About this test

The Apolipoprotein Ratio test measures the balance between two key proteins—Apolipoprotein B (ApoB) and Apolipoprotein A1 (ApoA1)—that carry cholesterol in your blood. ApoB is linked to “bad” cholesterol (LDL), which can clog arteries, while ApoA1 is associated with “good” cholesterol (HDL), which helps remove fats from the bloodstream. The ratio between them provides a more accurate assessment of your heart disease risk than traditional cholesterol tests.
