About this test
This pregnancy screening test measures blood sugar exactly 1 hour after consuming a 50-gram glucose drink to screen for gestational diabetes.
Before the test
- Fast for 10–12 hours before collection. Overnight is easiest; water is fine.
- The sample is taken 1 hour after a meal or glucose drink.
- A small sample from a vein in your arm.
